Our aim as a Society is to provide a meeting forum for those interested in steam railway operation and to produce the Coal Tank, a quarterly magazine for members covering historical and current aspects of steam railways.
We meet at 8pm on the second Tuesday of each month at the Kings Arms pub in Nevill Street, Abergavenny, where we have a drink and listen to presentations from guest speakers and Society members. The talks are on a wide range of subjects, often with a local flavour from the Welsh valleys or border areas between Wales and England.
The next meeting is on Tuesday 13th November when Mike Coulson talks about Sixties Steam with a Brownie 127 (part 2).
The Society Annual Dinner is on Tuesday 23rd October at 19:30 for 20:00 in the Kings Arms. The cost is £27 per person and you can see the menu by clicking on DINNER.
If you want to see what we are about then please come along to one of our monthly meetings, where you will be most welcome. If you like what you see then you can become a member on the spot.
